Middlebury College’s Vermont Innovation Summer is a new program supporting a cohort of students working at companies and on self-directed projects across Burlington, VT’s innovation ecosystem. This program is supported by the Innovation Hub.

Center for Women & Enterprise: Education Internship

The Center for Women & Enterprise Vermont (CWEVT) is an inclusive economic empowerment organization. We help women business owners and aspiring women entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses by providing greater access to the resources, tools, and support they need.

CWE seeks a dynamic, organized independent person to oversee the redesign of some of our signature entrepreneurship education programs. This position is great for students interested in educational design, Universal Design, entrepreneurship, and branding.

1% for the Planet: Individual & Corporate Prospect Research Internship

1% for the Planet is a global organization that accelerates smart environmental giving. They are motivated by our recognition that the current level of environmental giving is not enough to solve the most pressing issues facing our planet. Their members have given more than $250 million to environmental nonprofits to date.

They are looking for an intern for our Development department. The primary responsibility is to research and analyze individual donor prospects and donors and produce concise profiles. Ideal candidates are highly motivated, have excellent communication skills, and a passion for the environment.

Vernal Biosciences: Biotech Internship

Vernal Biosciences manufactures high purity mRNA for research use. They are seeking motivated self-starters who take initiative, ask questions, seek answers, and can make headway at the lab bench.

This is an opportunity to become part of Vermont’s burgeoning Biotech scene while learning worthwhile skills in a fast-paced, small team environment. Experience running common protein-, DNA- or RNA- based production procedures, purification and quantitative/qualitative assays is a plus. 

Geopipe: Software Engineering InternDeep Learning Intern

Geopipe is an early-stage start up with offices in NYC and Burlington, VT. They’re creating the authoritative whole-Earth digital twin, built by AI. Their technology enables customers and creators to develop real world-based 3D applications and experiences across gaming, simulation, architecture and design, and more.

They are looking for a Software Engineering Intern or a Deep Learning Intern to research, develop, implement, and test code with the goal of improving the 3D geospatial content they offer to customers. This will require mathematical problem-solving and a willingness to learn new skills.

Generator: Makerspace Internship

Generator is a combination of artist studios, classroom, and business incubator at the intersection of art, science, and technology. They provide tools, expertise, education, and opportunity – to enable all members of our community to create, collaborate, and make their ideas a reality.

They are looking for two Middlebury student interns to work on a variety of projects from operations to educational programming to fabrication to digital media. No technical experience is required and the internship will include tool trainings on their machinery (including laser cutting, 3D printing, vinyl cutting, wood and/or metal shop tools).

Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies (VCET): Venture Associate Internship

The Vermont Center for Emerging Technologies (VCET) is a startup incubator, coworking space, and investment fund located in Burlington, VT. They are hiring two Venture Associates to support our work investing in early stage tech and tech-enabled businesses starting and scaling in Vermont. 

This is a fantastic learning opportunity for students looking for hands-on experience in venture capital and startups. This will involve learning the in’s and out’s of early stage venture capital investing, business strategy, advising, performing market research, competitive analysis, financial modeling, and customer interviews, and learning and experiencing the investment screening, evaluation, due diligence, investment, and post-investment processes.

Widewail: Sales and Marketing Internship

Widewail is a Burlington-based startup focused on helping businesses effectively manage their reputation online. Widewail helps businesses both create and manage online engagement through its proprietary software and managed services.

They are looking for a Sales and Marketing Intern from Middlebury to work in their office at Hula, Burlington’s technology-driven coworking and innovation campus on the shores of Lake Champlain.

Innovation Hub Summer Internship!

Come work with our team as the Innovation Hub summer intern! This position will work with Innovation Hub faculty and staff to support summer programming (such as Vermont Innovation Summer and MiddChallenge) and prepare for the upcoming academic year. The intern will take on projects for distinct program suites within the Hub (Creativity and Innovation, Social Innovation, MiddCORE, Global Health and Oratory Now).
